How do I submit a Quest?
guidelines
lorekeeper
prompts
Quests, also called Prompts, are story briefs with specific guidelines and rewards, meant to help you develop your character(s). In the process you will earn shards, items, awards, and more!
Step 1: Choose the Quest
- Go to Explore in the navigation menu and select Questboard under the Play section.
- Choose one of the Quest Categories to view all the quests available in that category. Some quests can be completed without a character!
- Some quests require your character to be in a specific location. Most location-specific quests will be in the City Questboard section of the Questboard. Make sure your character is in the right location before you submit your quest!
- Select Details to view the quest brief and any requirements. This is where you'll find the specific instructions for that particular quest. Make sure you read this carefully!
- Some quests have prerequisites that must be completed before you can submit the next quest. Make sure to link your previous submissions when submitting these progressive quests!
- Some quests are time-limited, meaning you will only be able to submit your work until the deadline. Make sure you keep track of the time!
- Review the Rewards section to view the default rewards for this quest. These rewards will automatically be awarded when you complete the quest, and do not need to be added when submitting the quest!
Step 2: Complete the Quest
- Using the quest brief and the requirements for your chosen medium, complete your work with your character.
- Make sure you meet the minimum requirements for your chosen medium, listed in the Details for the quest.
- Upload your work to an online host so you can submit it! The Gallery is highly recommended, but this could also be Google Drive, Google Docs, Toyhou.se, Dropbox, Imgur, etc. Written work can be submitted directly in the comments section if it isn't too long!
- Do not use Discord as an image host. Discord image links are only valid for a brief period of time, and we cannot guarantee your submission will be processed within that time. Discord message links may identify the wrong image, and may add unnecessary processing time for Staff.
- Do not use DeviantArt as an image host. You may link a deviation or sta.sh file, but you cannot hotlink the image itself!
- Check sharing or viewing privileges for your work! Staff cannot approve what they cannot see, so make sure your work is accessible.
Step 3: Submit the Quest
There are two ways to get to the New Quest Submission screen! The first option is a great way to double-check the quest requirements before you submit:
- Go to Explore in the navigation menu and select Questboard under the Play section.
- Select the Quest Category for the quest you completed.
- Select the Submit Quest button for the quest you completed.
The second way is a little quicker:
- Go to Submit in the navigation menu and select Submit Quest.
- Use the Prompt dropdown to select the quest you completed.
Once you've selected your quest, you'll need to fill out all your information!
- Use the Submission URL field to link your work!
- Use the Comments section to add any comments you have about your work.
- In the Currency Reward Calculator section, use the Add Subject button to add one of the following:
- Character (Art) is for any Painted Relics characters featured in your art, including unofficial characters. View the Character (Art) guide for more information.
- Art Bonuses is for backgrounds, pets, etc. that are not Painted Relics characters. View the Art Bonuses guide for more information.
- Writing is for written work. View the Writing guide for more information.
- Repeat Step 6 as necessary.
- If applicable, in the Rewards section, use the Add Rewards button to add additional rewards. Most quests will not have additional rewards not already included in the default rewards.
- In the Characters section, use the Add Character button and the Character Code dropdown to link all official characters featured in your work. Characters not linked will be graded as unofficial characters!
- Make sure to select your Focus Character to ensure the correct character recieves character-specific rewards!
- If applicable, in the Add-Ons section, add consumable items to your quest submission.
- Select Show on the Your Inventory section to view your items. You can use the Item search to filter your inventory for a specific item. Selecting Selected Items will show you all the items you have currently selected to include in this quest submission.
- Select the checkbox(es) next to the item(s) you want to add to the quest submission. Adjust the Quantity dropdown as necessary.
- Select Save Draft to save your quest submission and come back to it later, or select Submit to submit your quest submission to Staff for approval. What is an ARPG?
lorekeeper
world
ARPG stands for Art Roleplaying Game!
It is a progression-based game where you advance by creating visual and/or written works of art that tell your stories within the world of the game, using characters that were created for this world.
Think of it like a collectible card game, in which you get to collect cards that are unique to you and adjusted to your personal tastes. If you decide you don't like that card, you can gift it, trade it, or alter it by applying items earned by playing the game. Your cards—in this case, your characters—are developed through your creative visual and/or written art, and become a part of the collective story of the game.
What is Painted Relics?
world
Painted Relics is a closed species ARPG set in the world of Kyvalore. Painted Relics, Kyvalore, its species, and associated official intellectual property are created and owned by Wisparia.
The game is played by creating either visual or written art to participate and advance in levels, stats, and create a collaborative story with the community.
In Painted Relics, the story of the world will change based on the decisions and actions of the players in events and story quests. Submitting your work will earn you currency and sometimes special items through quests!
