Feed the Delgu
Feed the Delgu

Details

You once heard a tale of a young voxibell who had a dire delgu as a pet. This was always just beleived to be tall tales though! How could a voxi tame a dire delgu? Their appetites were insatiable and their tempers unwavering.
That is until you found yourself stumbling into a crowd, staring with awe at just a voxi youth, and behind her, a massive rock patterned delgu stood. On her neck was a bright collar of red matching the voxibells manabone.

"Come cast your lot in!" The voxibell bellowed, a sly grin across her face.
"Give Princess a gift of food and she may return something back to you! Just remember she has high tastes, and what she favors seems to change."
The dire delgu, whom you now know as Princess snorted happily in response to Titari's words. Behind the delgu stood a mound of trinkets and treasures of all sorts! The crowd only seemed to get bigger as kyvalorians stared in wonder and some offered gifts! Not all got a gift in return, but some were given back a gift from the delgu, something taken straight from the stash it seemed to guard.
"Don't wait up! It's hard keeping a dire delgu calm on an empty stomach you know."

This is an NPC fetch quest, and no art or writing is needed!
Once a week you may cast your lot in and donate food to the delgu!
Depending on the type of food, a prize will be rewarded! The delgu's tastes change every month, but feel free to share your findings with other members of PR! You may be able to figure out her favorite foods for the month easier this way.

Just attach one(1) item to the quest and submit it and you will be returned with a gift from Princess.

Good luck!

You Met in a Tavern...

Details

Ardglass is an intersection. An intersection of countless streets shaded by row upon row of buildings. An intersection of trade, as the largest port city in all of Kyvalore. An intersection of culture, as all those who deliver goods to and from the port mingle and cross each other's lives. This, and much more. Currently you are dealing with the intersection of sea spray and your face, as a wave crashes against the dock you are standing on.
Protecting your bag of letters, you accept one more from the shipmaster before they return to their moderate sized, barnacle crusted vessel. The Portman’s Call, this letter was destined to, the last one to be delivered before your obligations were finished. The sun still had a few hours left before it hit the horizon, so there was still plenty of time left for activities afterward. Shaking off the seawater, you make your way off the docks and onto the roughly cobbled streets of Ardglass proper.

The buildings are tightly packed and irregular in their design. Some are single storied, others two or even three stories tall. Streets and alleyways intersect at slightly irregular intervals, the impression given that infrastructure was added wherever there was room to fit something new, when the town was originally constructed. The main commonality between them was creamy walls of various aged tones of brown and green, and similarly with red clay shingle roofing. Weaving your way through a decently large press of other travelers and traders, you take in the sights sounds and smells of Ardglass. The warm buttery embrace of Lynorre pastries wafts past you from a nearby bakery, as you eye a stand selling the freshest of Everdenn’s fruit.
Passerby’s are clanging mugs together of drink brought all the way down from the height of  Durmur’s peak, and they rip at flanks of Fayewood’s meats. The sounds of laughter from nearby inns, clattering of wooden wheels against the stone, and the soft mewing of hidden Fellkies all vie for your attention.

Following the directions given to you, scribbled on the back of a month-old shipping manifest, you make your way to The Portman’s Call. A sign hangs above the front door, a lighthouse shining bright against the night’s sky emblazoned upon it, while a sign board on the road next to the inn advertises a well-priced ‘Sip and Sleep’ package. Inside the inn is a long bar for patrons to eat or drink at, or just query for a room for the night.
To the right is a roaring fireplace, bringing in much needed warmth to the dozen or so people enjoying it’s aura. The farther left you go the darker it gets, with only a few candle lamps keeping things visible. A shrouded figure sits in the back of this dark corner (because of course they do), and seems to be who you are looking for.

Osiris, the older avilli with an olive-brown face and his mana rune marked upon his forehead. You can see the sigil, stark white against the darker fur, peeking out from under a brown cowl. He’s enjoying a hot soup and a mug as you approach. He lowers his hood as you approach, and a network of scars adds many years to his face. “And who might you be?” He asks of you.

Draw or write about your character in the Inn delivering the letter to Osiris. How do they approch the old avilli? Are they afraid of his grumpy and battle scarred looks?

Scrubbing the Deck

Ahoy there!

Details

In the busy port of Ardglass there’s no shortage of work to be found, the most common being cleaning up ships. Captains and their crews are always looking for a pair of willing hands to scrub the deck or clean barnacles off the hull. It’s hard work, but it’s short, pays well, and there’s plenty available. And for the less athletically inclined, there’s always plenty of other tasks, like sewing sails or checking rope.

Draw or write about your character signing up to one of these part time jobs. How do they manage the workload? Is working on a ship something they’d like to do, or just a means to an end?

The First Snowdrop

Even the mountains of Durmur have to thaw eventuall

Details

Though other areas of Kyvalore experience a wider range of seasons, Durmur appears to always be covered in a thick blanket of snow with subzero temperatures. However, seasoned locals know how to look out for the passing of the seasons, and will often look out for the appearance of the first few snowdrops and icespine thistles to signify the arrival of spring. As the snow begins to thin  and flowers begin to push through the sparkling white blanket, the inhabitants of Durmur also emerge from their home in the mountain.

Draw or write about your character enjoying the first days of spring. Do they go out looking for flowers and plants? Do they happily move out of the mountain into an outdoor spring home?

A Perilous Predicament

Details

Everyone knows of Durmur’s sprawling white landscapes and it’s craggy mountains clawing at the blue sky flecked with clouds. Everyone also knows of the sprawling city within the mountain, lit up by the joint efforts of fire and light mages, and the natural crystal formations in every crack and crevice. What most Kyvalorians don’t know, however, is that there is a web of intricate tunnels within Durmur’s many mountains, connecting the peaks and the land below in a complicated patchwork. The dangers that surrounded the beauty of the peaks were present here, too; an ill prepared adventurer could easily be lost in the many similar-looking tunnels, and meet their doom in a dead end lured by the promise of relics. Thus, each well-prepared adventurer often takes two things; a well-stocked pack, and a guide.

It just so happens that you were drafted to be the well-stocked pack. When whispers of an expedition to unearth a relic started echoing off the many walls in Durmur, your ear pricked up at the smell of adventure and a handsome profit. These expeditions were dangerous, and thus well-rewarded, and this one was meant to be a big one. Though you applied with the intent of a much more noble role (a guard perhaps, or even a guide), you got the role of carrying the cart with supplies.

Better than nothing, you thought.

You would curse that thought later when, a few days into the journey, a sudden tremor shook the passage leading to the relic. The guide assured the group that it was nothing out of the ordinary; they were to be proven wrong when another powerful tremor shook the ceiling of the tunnel loose and collapsed down on the group, crashing on top of the cart of supplies, sealing you in and cutting off your well-mapped route back to the heart of Durmur.

Two main options presented themselves; try to dig through the wall of rocks and debris back the way you came. Or explore further down the tunnel into poorly mapped territory. One thing was certain; to remain still would be to invite your own doom.

Draw or write about your character trying to find a way out of the tunnel. Do they explore further down the path, into the winding tunnels and the chamber with the rumoured relic, or do they attempt to brute force their way out?

Nurturing future harvests

In the many greenhouses scattered in and around the city, seedling nurseries begin to turn green once again. All sorts of Kyvalorians help out with planting seeds, repotting the seedlings, and keeping them well watered and lit. Light and water mages are especially handy this time of year, helping to keep the little ones growing strong.

The Blight

Details

Everdenn is a small town in a large area. A large town with a small amount of goings-on. It is a town of producing, a town of peace and hard work. A small city center acts as the heart of Everdenn. Shops, taverns, inns, a post office, and a few other abodes make it worth the visit from the outlying farms. Those lay along dirt and cobble arteries, each homestead further stretched apart from its neighbor the farther you travel. Far enough out and you could feel totally alone, seeing not a soul or a sign of structure from one’s modest house when the fields were emptied.  The air is crisp and the land flat, laid atop a bed of fertile soil and finely crafted irrigation systems. The market stalls of nearly every other city in Kyvalore can thank Everdenn for a continuous supply of juicy fruits and wool clothes, among many other foods and wares. The farmers of this fair-weathered town work studiously to make sure the fields are full of life year round.

It is with this knowledge and the excellence of product raised and sold by Everdenn’s farmers that the stress of a successful crop is heaped upon their bent shoulders. A bad year for one means less to go around for others, and only so much needed to go wrong before it became a bad year for kyvalorians around the globe.

And it was beginning to look like a bad year.

You were ‘In Town’ at the city center one day when you noticed Fern, out in front of her botany shop. The normally cheery if eccentric voxibell was obviously distraught about something, her tan head hung low and even more hidden inside her wide-brimmed hat than usual. Upon getting closer, she notices you and moves her head in the direction of a flower pot set off to one side of her shop’s entrance. The pot was large and deep, it’s clay exterior decorated, cleaned off, and decorated again in an obviously long cycle of use. Currently a patterning of small gemstones and decorative vines wrapped the pot in a precise and artistic order. The plant inside, however was not nearly as vibrant. It used to be thickly stemmed and long leafed, that you knew for sure. Other than the fact that said stem was green, however, you couldn’t gleam much else. What was left was dark, mushy and even moldy in more than a few places.

“I’ve had this plant since I was only a babe.” Fern told you, mournfully. “My nana gave it to me, though she could never tell my mother where she got it from. I’ve had it through long droughts and tough winters, from town to town it’s come with me.

But something’s here now, and it took it from me. It’s taking other’s too. I’ve seen the looks of the people coming in. Something’s happening to the harvests.”

She paused for a second, and you could see a slight shift in her posture, her expression.

“If this is getting to the crops, then there’s much more at stake here than a few pretty flowers. We need to get down to the bottom of this before things turn sour and winter turns dark. Can you help me, friend? Help me find the extent of this blight?” The last word left her mouth with almost a snarl, like it was a curse.

Restless Spring Spirits

Spring is a time of change...

Details

As the days grow longer and the nights grow shorter, the restless spirits of the Umbral Wilds grow agitated, terrorizing travelers through the thick forest that surrounds Fayewood. Nobody is quite sure what has caused the change, although some point to the dense fog that lays thick across the woods each morning as a sign that Sahmaron has returned. There have been no other signs, but opportunistic ne’er-do-wells have made the most out of this fear, hanging about to ambush travelers on the woodland paths.

Intruder In The Night

Details

Night is something of a paradox in the forested city of Fayewood. Night never falls upon the city, for it has smothered the city like a thick blanket since before it's inception. The tree cover across not only Fayewood but most of the Umbral Wilds is so absolute that sunlight is a foreign concept to those who have never left it's borders. This makes the schedules of it's residents much more fluid than the rest of Kyvalore. It was hard to tell the time when you couldn't track the passage of the sun, magic being the only way. Unless something was time sensitive, you simply went to sleep when you were tired, and awoke when you were not.

Because of this, there was always at least a few people up and about their business in Faeywood. Guided by strategically place lanterns and the multicolored motes of floating fireflies, it was easy to see where you were going and needed to go across the multi-leveled bridges and businesses. But the brighter the light cast, the deeper the shadows grew.

In the span of a single night, a string of thefts tore though the tree-homes of Fayewood. A dozen or more residences were hit, something of importance stolen from each. You were one of those affected by the burglary. There was no rhyme or reason to the items taken, or the kyvalorians affected. Mistrust has no place in a community such as this, surrounded as you are by the Umbral Wilds.

It looks like among others of Fayewood, something from you was also stolen, so now this matter has become personal.

Upon realizing a precious item of yours was stolen, how does your character react? What was the item that was taken? Did they notice its dissapearence right away?
