Grizzled and scarred from years of battle, Novir is one of the most highly respected individuals to any that meet him. He can easily seem cold at first, but he cares so deeply for Kyvalore and it's residents that it is easy to overlook his off putting demeanor.
Generally residing outside the city of Vitrun to defend the cities residents from the monsters that live within the sands,
He is the leader of the Fighter's Guild, eager to recruit fresh fighters and train them, determined to prepare Kyvalore for a world without him.
Novir is currently the only known being that can use Storm magic.

Novir, Captain of the Fighters' Guild, can almost invariably be found in one of three places; his office at the Fighters' Guild Headquarters in Vitrun, the training grounds, or out on patrol, safeguarding the city from sand devils. As the only known kyvalorian with the ability to summon lightning, his presence can turn the tide of battle against a sand devil. The glittering spires of fulgurite he leaves behind are often taken by opportunists to forge lucky talismans.
A strong, capable fighter with a fearsome reputation and an intimidating aura, Novir speaks as if he is barking orders constantly, brusque and efficient in everything he does. This includes eating, training, cleaning, training, fighting, and more training. Fighters who have trained directly under Novir are always considered among the best of their city's guards, no matter where they end up. They talk about their training in hushed, haunted tones, recalling days of burning muscles and aching heads, pushing themselves to their physical and magical limits under Novir's stern tutelage. Given that he trains alongside his recruits even now, everyone worries about his health, but he insists that he is perfectly fit, and he'll thank them for not implying it's time for him to take his Last Voyage.
Despite his gruff demeanor, he has a soft side, particularly for young kyvalorians who don't quite know what they want to do in life yet.
