Transformations

A relic form for a Kyvalorian is an alternate form that is currently gained by taking mana from old bones and fossils and pulling memories from it. In causing the mana to remember an old form, it lets the Kyvalorian attune to it and giving them the ability to transform to a version of the old Kyvalorian humans.

While some Kyvalorians have gained a sense of awe and want to pursue the research and development of old mana research, many disagree and believe it will bring about a true end to the world without the gods to save them. Many who attune to old magic and have a relic form are seen as cursed bringing bad luck and ill omens, but that might just be superstition. Due to this, relic forms have been forbidden in certain areas such as around the life tree and the mana stone.
With many believing in ill intent, some Kyvalorians that take a relic form choose to hide it from others, even going as far as taking on a second identity when in their relic form.


Relic forms come in two kinds, full and partial. Once a Kyvalorian has attuned to old magic, they have access to both forms, though not all use both.

Partial Relic Forms

Partial relic forms keep more features and attributes of the original Kyvalorian, like an anthro form. These forms keep all traits of the original Kyvalorian, but walk on two legs, and some features, like hands, become more humanoid.

Full Relic Forms

Full relic forms are forms that greatly resemble humans, with only remaining Kyvalorian features. Each species has requirements they must meet for visible traits on full forms, but many aspects change. Full relic forms do not need to retain the markings or patterns of a Kyvalorian's pelt, and can instead change it for a solid tone, or more human representing tone. Most commonly these relic forms take a skin color that is 1 of the existing colors on the character, or they take a more common human skin tone.
